One of the special blessings I had, while on vacation, was to be able to have "more" time with God. To see the awesomeness of God's creation (we saw whales AND sea turtles!) and to be in God's Word. I was also blessed to be able to do 'extra' reading especially on prayer. Reading about, and writing in my journal about, prayer got me to thinking more on prayer.
Our Scripture reading, this morning, is Luke 5 where Jesus starts calling the Disciples. Jesus is still calling to each of us! My question to you is 'what is Jesus calling you to'? Fill in the blank because there is a LOT that we can be doing in this world especially as we care for the 'widow, the orphan and the stranger in our land.' I have a couple of suggestions, however, for a starting point. First off -- prayer, talking to, and with, God. Second spending time with God so we can strengthen the relationship with God is a good starting point.
I know busy schedules. I know the blessing of vacation and 'extra' time. I'm asking if Jesus is calling each of us to BE with God -- to actually take time daily to stop and pray.
