In some ways it would be so easy to "just" be praying for someone and the person getting the encouragement they need. I think we are definitely called to be praying for such things but I also think we are called to more. We are called to actually speak the words of encouragement to the person. We are also called to let people know when we need the encouragement and the prayer. So, I ask you -- who are you praying for? I also want to ask you -- who is praying for you?
I recently found out one of the members of the church has been praying for me, daily, for over a year. To say I was surprised is an understatement. To say I am VERY thankful is also an understatement!! All prayers gratefully accepted!
I encourage you to be praying encouragement but also to actually "encourage" the person you are praying for. Let the person know, if possible, that you are praying for them. Ask if there is something you can do to help with what ever you've been praying about.
