As we have been studying Circle Maker, and prayer, several people have commented on how scary it is to have "God size" prayers. They have talked about how difficult it is, because of how nervous it makes them, to be praying for something "so big." I truly under stand, and agree, with the statement -- it is scary! It is even more scary because we don't "know" where an answer to the "God size prayer" might take us!!
In Ephesians 3, Paul's prayer for/to the Ephesians (and us), we are reminded "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us," (v. 20 NIV) God's power at work within us, doing God size prayers through us can be both reassuring (God with us) and even more scary ("more than all we ask or imagine") but, when you think about it - it can also be exciting.
So..... Yes, I'm excited, and scared, as I start into this next step in ministry. No, I don't know where God is leading but I am trying to follow the steps I feel I'm being asked to take. Yes, I do believe the next steps are a "God sized" prayer/dream. What about you? Are your really following where God is leading? Are you excited and scared? My prayer for you is that you know you know "God's power at work within you."
