Our Scripture, this morning, is a little different because I'm getting ready to go share about Mobile Ministry and the outreach we have up here "in the North country." The Gospel reading I've chosen is Matthew 28:19 & 20. "Go"...... "Make Disciples"......"Teach them to 'obey' everything I have commanded you." Wow! Jesus is speaking to each one of us! The idea of 'going' is hard enough but then He adds "make Disciples" and 'teach them to obey"!! Like I said............ "who, me?!" A lot of us respond with -- "leave it to the professionals" -- right?
I talked a lot, this last year, about sharing our stories of "facing our giants." It is an easy way of 'going, making and teaching' for each of us as we share how God has been with us through the difficulties. Have you thought about that part of it? Have you thought about sharing how you have been praying for someone? The encouragement could be what it takes for the person to think of Discipleship and "obeying everything I have commanded you" (20)
So........... Once again..... Jesus is telling each of us to "go, make Disciples, teach, obey" because He IS with us "always, even to the end of the age." (20) So do we follow instructions? Do we share how God has been with us? Do we encourage by 'teaching' how God IS with all of us? Something to think about as we watch God's 'paint brush' go wild with the fall colors.
