One of the resolutions I am encouraging people to think about is 'making room.' I'm pretty sure that we all have busy calendars, schedules that include more things to finish than hours to do them and, if you're like me, way more 'stuff' than one person needs.
Then comes Advent a time of preparation and remembering. A time of preparation for the second coming of Christ while remembering, and celebrating, the first coming. A time when one of our biggest giants, consumerism, is constantly reminding us of other things, and more things, that need to be done and/or bought. A time when our calendars, no matter how full they have been, become fuller with added activities.
Now I'm asking you to make room. Make room in your schedule, on your calendar, in your home AND in your daily activities for time with God. Time to stop, listen, feel God's presence and just be with God. As we celebrate the already (Christ's first coming) and the not yet (Christ's second coming) I'm asking you to 'make room' for God. Listen for what God is asking you to change so you HAVE room for God, for strengthening your relationship with God and for showing God's love to others.
Get ready, get set......... Go! Let's make room for God!
