Some of you know I have a lot of trouble with numbers. I look at them and go, "yup, those are numbers" and then praise God for the wonderful treasurers I have (and have had) at each of my churches. Struggling with numbers doesn't make it any easier to do, or explain, "three in One = One in three."
Then you add in the factor of what do YOU call God. Some of us grew up, and still do, say "God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit." Some say Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer. I, personally, think of God as "Father" but try to remember to NOT use "gender" when possible. I was blessed with a very loving earthly father -- those that have not had that blessing struggle with the image of a loving Father.
My suggestion, this week, is to take God "out of the box." Take God out of the "box" of what we call God, how we think of God, "where" we think of God (in the "box" called the "church building") and out of any other "box" we may have put God in. My suggestion is that we let the wonderful, loving, awesome God we celebrate today "out of the box" and dance like we talked about last week.
What if we did that? What if we celebrated that? What if we watched as each, and all, of us not only danced, but shared, where we have seen this awesome God at work AND with us? What might change?
