There are two ideas that I would like you to think about, this week, so you can be 'ready.' The first is what we have been talking about for several weeks -- keeping your relationship with God strong. Now our summer people are heading back to full calendars, those of us that are blessed to live here year round have our fall/winter/spring calendars and ALL of us have time constraints that can make this difficult. I understand that -- especially as I look at my own calendar! I want to remind you, however, of the need for the "full armor of God" as we go out to "face our giants." We need the strong relationship with God to be 'ready' to face "our" giants, our busy schedules, our families and everything else going on in our lives. Putting God first in our lives, our schedules and on our calendars will keep the relationship strong.
The second idea is to find a friend to hold you accountable to the first idea. I encourage you to be in a Bible study, with at least one other person, that will not only help with the study but hold you accountable TO the study. This will also give you a prayer partner to encourage you as you 'face your giant.' I speak from experience, here, because I actually have two groups I do this with. BOTH are long distance groups as in they do not live anywhere near me -- in fact two live in other states -- but we are in touch with each other weekly. We are in touch by e-mail, messages, texts and YES! we talk on the phone (what a concept!) This helps build our relationship, with each other, AND our relationships with God.
So..... Ready? Gets set.............. GO!!
