This last spring, when we were doing Circle Maker by Mark Batterson, we learned to be claiming God's promises and "circling" the promise AND the prayer. Not being able to 'do' my usual prayer time, for several weeks, meant I got out of that practice. What about you? Have you been able, with busy summer schedules, to continue your time with God? Your time of prayers? Are you still 'circling' the prayer promise?
Our Scripture, for today, is Ephesians 6 "put on the full armor of God." We are reminded of the need for the armor as we "fight against evil rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil." (6:12) We are reminded of the need to 'stand firm' and to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." (6:18)
The problem is -- the first thing to "go" when our schedules get busy is time to stop and be with God. Time to be in prayer, in Scripture, meditating and 'circling' the promises as we face the 'giants' and try to go where God is leading. I understand. I know it is difficult. I know it is easier to say "tomorrow - I will do it tomorrow." I also know we need to do it today! That is my prayer for all of us - to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions" including busy schedules, difficulties in getting to our prayer practices, and other people around us.
