I, personally, am facing two 'giant' changes -- 1) an ankle that doesn't want to work right (arthritis confirmed) and the extra 'time' (and exercises) that requires, and 2) God reminding me of the full extent of my call, into ministry, and the 'change' needed to fulfill ALL of my call. New things can be both scary and 'time' consuming!
So...... Now what? Are we "ready" to step out in faith, to 'face the giant(s)'? Paul, in Ephesians 6:10--20, is helping us to gather our 'stones' to face ALL of our 'giants.' I think the part we all need to remember is the 'sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.' We need the 'full armor of God' (faith) but to 'face the giant(s)' we need to KNOW God's Word. We need to have a special verse, or verses, that we can hold onto, like the stones David had to face Goliath. (One of our 'summer people' pointed out, as I was sharing about 5 Stones and facing our giants, that J-e-s-u-s IS "5 stones" and David had Jesus WITH him.) We need to have that same faith of KNOWING God IS with us -- not just head knowledge but also heart knowledge.
How are you doing with that? Have you taken your faith from your head to your heart? Are you living your faith? Are you ready to face your giant?
