In the midst of this comes today's readings from my friend Isaiah! Isaiah is talking about the awesomeness of God and God's call on his (your) life. The reading, today, is Isaiah 6:1-8. The awesomeness of God is the start of the chapter and, yes, we will be singing "Holy, Holy, Holy" this morning! Verse 8 is what I'm asking you to look at, think about and see where God is leading you.
Verse 8 is God asking "whom shall I send." Isaiah responds with "here I am, send me." That should be our response too. We should be bringing God's love, and peace, into the conversations going on around us. We should be listening for what the concerns are, helping to bring peace to the situation. We should be saying "send me," Lord but help me like you did Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:9). Please, God, give me the words that will start the healing and bring Your love into these difficult times.
Is this a 'giant' we need to face? Yes. Is this scary? YES! Do we need to be in prayer? Definitely YES!! I would remind you, however, as we face this 'giant' -- God IS with us. My friend Isaiah, and Jeremiah, give us God's promises to be with us, guiding us AND giving us the words to speak.
