Jesus is telling us, in the Gospel reading this morning (John 10:27), "My sheep hear my voice." Paul shows us, in Acts 17, the importance of Scripture as we follow where God is leading. These are gentle reminders to make the decision to take the "time" to do what God is asking us to do. Sometimes it is something new, sometimes it is something different, sometimes (probably more often than we admit) it is something scary but we can listen for Jesus' voice and KNOW we are following our Shepherd.
So, as busy schedules get busier, which voice are you listening to? Are you listening to the voices in the many voices in the world -- the commercials on TV that tell us what we should like, buy, replace or get the biggest, best newest? OR are you listening to, and following, God's voice calling to us to spend time with God, keep the strong relationship with God so we can "love the Lord with all of our mind, soul and strength," and "our neighbor as ourself"?
It is "time to decide" -- DO we know our Shepherd? Can we follow where He is leading?
