Our Gospel reading, this morning, is Mark 6 where Jesus is teaching the 5,000 (plus! There would have been women and children there too!!) people. It is late and everyone needs physical food. Jesus tells the Disciples to "feed them." When the Disciples question "how" Jesus shows them AND feeds the people with "12 baskets of leftovers." Jesus fed ALL the people, Disciples included, emotionally, physically and Spiritually.
Jesus shows us how we can be fed, taking time with God (that we spoke of last week), and calls us to feed others. Jesus is also calling us to "go and do" these things -- feed others, help others and show others God's love. It is time to "go and do." What is our answer?
In worship, for the last few weeks, we've been talking about "Facing our Giants." How we need to prepare, strengthen our relationship with God, so we can "go and do." Is this your "Giant" -- the idea of actually "going and doing"? God has given each of us the resources, just like Jesus shows us (5 loaves and 2 fish with 12 baskets of leftovers), to do what God is calling us to. It is time to "go and do."
Can you face this 'giant' --- "go and do"? God IS with you, has prepared you and WILL guide you.
